Mountain Hawks Finish Fifth at Temple Invitational

PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. – The Lehigh men's golf team concluded action at the Temple Invitational Sunday at the 1912 Club. The Mountain Hawks posted a final total of 588 (289-299) to claim fifth place in the 12-team field.

Junior Jake Roth was the low Mountain Hawk over the two-day, 36-hole tournament. Roth held the individual lead after an opening round 66 and shot 75 Sunday with one birdie to his credit to finish in a tie for third place at one over par 141.

Classmate Paulius Malcius also shot 75 Sunday and tied for 22nd place at 147 (72-75).

Lehigh's low score on Sunday belonged to junior Aiden LeBlanc, who shot four over par 74 and tied for 31st place at 149 (75-74). LeBlanc's final round included two eagles and a birdie.

Senior Jahan Bains finished two strokes behind LeBlanc, tying for 37th place at 151 (76-75).

First-year Noah Zyung finished in 54th place at 156 (76-80).
Â
Malcius, Bains and Zyung all made three birdies in their final rounds.

Competing as an individual, sophomore Matthew Quinn shot 157 (80-77) and tied for 55th place.

Drexel captured the team title at 573 (286-287) with the Dragons defeating Penn by two strokes.

La Salle's Benjamin Battye and Drexel's Drue Nicholas tied for first individually at even par 140.

The Mountain Hawks will be back on the course for the RedHawk Intercollegiate, Oct. 14-15 at the Pittsburgh Field Club.
