Mountain Hawks Kick Off Busy Week With Day One Of RedHawk Intercollegiate

PITTSBURGH – The Lehigh men's golf team shot 295 in round one of the Miami Ohio's RedHawk Intercollegiate Monday at the Pittsburgh Field Club. The Mountain Hawks were tied for ninth out of 16 teams. Play in Monday's second round was suspended due to darkness, with the Mountain Hawks 21 strokes over par for the tournament.

Junior Aiden LeBlanc and sophomore Matthew Quinn both shot two over par 73 to lead Lehigh in round one. Quinn carded a team-best three birdies, while LeBlanc made one.

First-year Noah Zyung carded a 74 with one birdie with sophomore Charles Schrohe one stroke behind, shooting 75 with a pair of birdies.

Junior Jake Roth also made two birdies in his opening round 76.

LeBlanc and Roth are both three over par in their second rounds when play was halted.

Marquette shot 278 to take the 18-hole team lead, while Georgia Southern pulled one stroke ahead of the Golden Eagles during round two.

Three players are tied for the individual lead at seven under par when play was suspended: Max Lyons (Marquette), Cameron Pero (Miami Ohio) and Brycen Jones (Georgia Southern).

The RedHawk Intercollegiate concludes Tuesday with the conclusion of round two followed by the final 18 holes at the Pittsburgh Field Club.
