PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - A late first half equalizer by junior Dakota Russell secured Lehigh's 1-1 draw with Saint Joseph's on Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia.

Saint Joseph's struck early, taking a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute from a goal by Nicole Everard.

In the 44th minute, Russell netted the equalizer off a rebound from Saint Joseph's goalkeeper Katie Cappelletti.

Lehigh out-cornered the Hawks 5-2 while shots were knotted at eight apiece with six on goal for both teams.

Junior goalkeeper Maggie Ousoujoglou and Cappelletti recorded five saves apiece in the match.

Graduate student Ava Schaller led the Mountain Hawks with two shots, one of which was on goal. Saint Joseph's Sarah Fisher tallied three with one on goal.

Lehigh (1-3-4) opens Patriot League play at 6 p.m. on Friday against Navy at the Ulrich Sports Complex.
