BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh welcomes Colgate to Stabler Arena on Saturday afternoon for the Patriot League regular season finale. The Mountain Hawks and first-place Raiders will square off in front of a national audience on CBS Sports Network at noon.
Lehigh (12-16, 9-8 PL) trails Colgate (21-9, 15-2 PL) in the all-time series 62-42 after dropping a narrow 60-57 decision to the Raiders earlier this season. The Raiders have been a formidable opponent for the Mountain Hawks as of late, holding a 9-1 record over Lehigh in their last ten meetings.
If Lehigh wins, they would finish the Patriot League season with a winning record in league play. The Mountain Hawks would also split the season series with the Raiders. In addition, Lehigh can clinch a home quarterfinal with a win as long as Boston U., American and Lafayette all do not win.
Lehigh's five-game winning streak was napped on Wednesday night at Stabler Arena in a 64-62 overtime loss to the Boston University Terriers. Tyler Whitney-Sidney scored 20 while Dominic Parolin posted his third double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds in the loss. The Mountain Hawks currently sit in fifth place in the league standings and can jump up to as high as the third seed depending on Saturday's results. Lehigh has clinched a top-six seed already, meaning that they have avoided playing in the first round of the Patriot League Tournament.
Colgate clinched their fifth consecutive Patriot League regular season title with three games remaining on their schedule. They picked up a 77-58 victory over the Holy Cross Crusaders in their last game to claim their 15th conference victory of the season. Three Raiders currently average 10+ points, those being sophomore Braeden Smith (12.2), fifth-year Ryan Moffatt (11.1) and fifth-year Keegan Records (11.0).
Saturday's game will be aired on CBS Sports Network and can be listened to on Fox Sports Radio 94.7 FM and 1230 AM. The game will be a 'White Out', as fans are encouraged to wear white. The first 200 students will receive a free t-shirt. Prior to tip-off, the team will be honoring its five seniors for a special Senior Day celebration.
