BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh women's basketball will look to carry the momentum from its two-game winning streak heading into Wednesday's game against Bucknell. Tip off is slated for 6 p.m. at Stabler Arena.
The Mountain Hawks are 14-8 (6-5 PL) and are tied for fourth in the Patriot League. The Bison are just one-game behind Lehigh as they have a 8-14 overall record and a 5-6 league record.
Sophomore Lily Fandre scored the game-winning basket in Lehigh's 70-68 overtime win against the Leopards on Feb. 10. Fandre earned a Patriot League honorable mention after recording her fourth double-double of the season with 16 points and a career-tying 14 rebounds. Fandre also had a team-high of five assists and two steals.
While Fandre had a double-double, three others players finished in double figures, with Ella Stemmer tallying a team-high of 18 points, Meghan O'Brien scoring 11 points, and Colleen McQuillen adding 10 points.
Stemmer hit for 14 of her 18 points in the second half. She also made four three-pointers and now has 128 three-pointers, which is just six shy of the 10th-most three-pointers in program history. With five more three pointers, Stemmer would tie Hailey Pascoe '19 for 10th place.
Stemmer and Fandre have both finished in double figures 15 times this season. Fandre's five consecutive games in double figures is the longest active streak on the team right now.
Lehigh's last two games have come down to just one possession, and the Mountain Hawks have been on the winning side of both of those battles after defeating Boston University 64-62 on Feb. 3.
The Bison come into Wednesday's game with a three-game winning streak. Bucknell most recently defeated Boston University 71-60 on Feb. 10. Ashley Sofilkanich paced the way with a team-high of 21 points and was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season on Feb. 12.
Sofilkanich is second on the team in scoring with 12.1 points per game. Emma Theodorsson leads the way with a team-high of 12.6 points per game.
Wednesday's game will mark the second time these two teams meet this season. Lehigh defeated Bucknell 69-63 on Jan. 13.
Fandre (15 points), Remi Sisselman (13 points), O'Brien (11 points) and McQuillen (10 points) all finished in double figures.
Theodorsson finished with a game-high of 16 points, while Sofilkanich added 13 points and Blake Matthews tallied 11 points.
