Lehigh, Teamworks Influencer Launch Mountain Hawk Exchange

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh Athletics, in partnership with Teamworks Influencer, has launched Mountain Hawk Exchange to connect student athletes and businesses for name, image and likeness (NIL) opportunities.

Free to both student-athletes and commercial enterprises, Mountain Hawk Exchange provides a customized portal for communicating with student-athletes and fulfilling market-based NIL opportunities.

Mountain Hawk Exchange will serve as an extension of Lehigh Athletics' educational mission. It will allow Lehigh student-athletes to be actively involved in marketing themselves, and learning how to do so, successfully.

"As the NIL landscape continues to evolve, Lehigh Athletics felt it was essential to equip our student-athletes with a tool to learn how to build their personal brand, market themselves, and connect with local businesses in our communities," said Lehigh Deputy Director of Athletics Sue Troyan. "Our partnership with the Influencer Exchange program supports this goal, aligning with our mission of learning and personal development while providing our Lehigh student-athletes a platform to capitalize on marketplace opportunities surrounding their name, image and likeness."

After registering on Mountain Hawk Exchange, a business can access a database of Mountain Hawk student-athletes, searchable by a variety of criteria, to message a student-athlete directly or request contact information. Mountain Hawk Exchange will allow student-athletes to partner with businesses, primarily those located in the Lehigh Valley, and be active in the local community. Influencer and Lehigh will not be involved directly in any NIL negotiations.

Once an NIL agreement is reached, a customized reporting form compliant with the Pennsylvania law and Lehigh Athletics Name, Image and Likeness guidelines is created and forwarded to Lehigh University. Businesses wishing to utilize Lehigh Athletics' marks and logos (IP) in their NIL activity with student-athletes will then need to connect with Lehigh's multi-media rights holder, Learfield.

Mountain Hawk Exchange also includes a payment processing tool to securely pay student-athletes and create a 1099 form that lives in the student-athlete's Influencer app for more efficient tax reporting. The platform will continue to provide education on NIL issues, including financial literacy and brand building, while providing market research and tracking social media growth and engagement.
