Men's Cross Country Preps For 50th Paul Short Run Gold, Open Races

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The 50th annual Paul Short Run is upon us, and Lehigh will once again host one of the largest cross country meets in the U.S. from the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course this weekend. The meet will be broken up into two days this year, with high school races taking place on Friday and college races occurring on Saturday.
Lehigh men's cross country will have runners competing in multiple races on Saturday, those being the open race at 9:30 a.m. and the gold race at 11:00 a.m.
The Mountain Hawks earned a 25th-straight victory over Lafayette College in their annual rivalry dual meet race on September 21. Lehigh earned a 19-42 win over their rivals, led by senior Kevin Harvey with an 8K finish in 24:51.2. Sophomore Ryan Baker (2nd, 24:59.1) and senior Aidan Lynch (3rd, 25:05.0) rounded out the top three for Lehigh.
Lehigh claimed a 35th-place finish from a pool of 43 teams at last year's Paul Short Run. Harvey finished in first place for Lehigh with a time of 24:57.4, which was good enough for 80th overall. Thomas Smigo finished second for Lehigh to claim 123rd in 25:12.4, the highest finish for a Lehigh first-year runner since 2010. Lynch came in third for Lehigh with a time of 26:05.0 to finish 263rd.
