BC's Red Bandana Intercollegiate Awaits Women's Golf, Beginning Monday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following a solid showing at the Hornet Classic at the Creek, the Lehigh women's golf team will close out September at the two-day Red Bandana Intercollegiate, Monday-Tuesday at Blue Hills Country Club in Milton, Mass.

The Red Bandana Intercollegiate will feature 54 holes of play, with 36 on Monday and 18 Tuesday on the 6,138-yard par 72 course at Blue Hills.

Lehigh finished third out of 14 teams at Delaware State's Hornet Classic at the Creek, Sept. 18-19 in Rehoboth Beach, Del. The Mountain Hawks placed three players in the top 15 individually and recorded the second-lowest scores in program history for a single round (294 in round two) and 54-hole tournament (902).

First-year Stefania Fedun tied for sixth place at 221 and earned honorable mention recognition from the Patriot League earlier in the week. Fedun's opening-round 70 tied for the third-lowest single-round score in program history. Sophomore Yuki Zhu and junior Madison Pineda joined Fedun with top 15 finishes.

The Mountain Hawks' lineup is expected to feature Pineda, Zhu, Fedun, senior Venecia Zaia and either first-year Bella Scanapicco or first-year Olivia Lu.

Lehigh last played in this event in 2019, as the Mountain Hawks finished ninth out of 14 teams.

This year's field includes Barry, Boston University, Cal State Northridge, Eastern Michigan, Elon, Fairfield, LIU, Merrimack, Monmouth, Mount St. Mary's, Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart, St. John's, Stonehill and UAlbany, in addition to Lehigh and host Boston College.

Play begins with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Monday. Lehigh will play alongside LIU and Mount St. Mary's for the opening round.
