HAMILTON, N.Y. – Lehigh men's cross country competed this morning at the Harry Lang Invitational after a third-place finish at their own Lehigh Invitational the day before. The team ran as a pack at the back of the race, finishing in ninth place at today's 6k while getting a feel for the course site of this year's Patriot League championship.
"Today provided a great opportunity for us to run on the course that will be hosting the Patriot League Championship in eight weeks," said head coach Todd Etters. "It is a great throwback course with some challenging terrain in the middle of the woods and it will be our benefit to have run it today. The men were disciplined and did a nice job of sticking together while getting a sense for what they will face at the end of the year."
After running well the day before, the team elected to run together today to help prepare themselves to run the very same course later in the year. Junior Ethan Hood crossed the finish line first for the Mountain Hawks with a time of 23:04.6, while Lehigh's final runner Max Leffler finished less than two seconds behind Hood.
The Mountain Hawks will take a week off from competition before heading to Easton on September 16 for the annual Lehigh/Lafayette dual meet. The men's race is slated to begin at 10:45 a.m.
