The Patriot League champion was even through nine holes on Wednesday with a pair of birdies, before playing four over on the back nine. Â
Top seed and fourth-ranked Arizona State edged Pac-12 rival Stanford 805-807 to win the regional. Both teams advanced to the NCAA Championships, later this month in Scottsdale, Ariz., along with Virginia, San Francisco and East Tennessee State.
Â
Virginia's Ben James and San Francisco's Matthew Anderson tied for top individual honors at 20 under par 196. Oklahoma State's Jonas Baumgartner also advanced to the NCAA Championships as the top individual not on one of the top five teams.
