BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Fifth-year head coach Alexa Keckler and the Lehigh volleyball program have announced its three captains for the 2022 campaign, kicking off this fall. The group includes an incoming junior and two sophomores who will provide tremendous leadership to a squad that showed potential throughout the course of the 2021 campaign.
Â
Captaining the Mountain Hawks for the upcoming season are junior Lylah Washington and sophomores Kyleigh Brown and Megan Schulte.
Â
Washington played 24 matches during her sophomore season, totaling 139 kills and 189 digs. She also added 20 total blocks with 13 service aces. Her kill total was good for fifth-most on the team and finished with the fourth-most digs as well.
Â
As a first-year, Brown broke through as the team's starting libero last season with a team-best 350 digs, averaging 3.33 per set. She also finished with 54 assists, ranking third and had 14 service aces while appearing in 27 matches.
Â
Like Brown, Schulte also excelled during her first-year at Lehigh, leading the program in kills (275) and was fifth in digs (156) and third in blocks (62). She had a career-high 21 kills against Dartmouth on Sept. 3 and finished with 15 or more on six occasions.
Â
The Mountain Hawks' fall schedule will be released soon as the program looks to go back to the Patriot League Tournament for the first time since 2019.
