Mountain Hawks Finish Up Action at ABARTA Collegiate Invitational

HELLERTOWN, Pa. – Warmer weather across the board led to lower scores on the second and final day of Lafayette's ABARTA Collegiate Invitational. The Mountain Hawks shot 294 Monday at The Steel Club, shaving seven strokes off of their opening round score, to finish the two-day event at 595 (301-294). Lehigh finished 11th out of 20 teams.

Junior David Hurly was the Mountain Hawks' top finisher, tying for fifth place at one under par 143 (71-72). Hurly birdies eight of his 36 holes on the weekend.

Lehigh's No. 2 finisher was sophomore Edmund Broderick, who tied for 44th place at 150 (74-76). First-year Aidan Oehrle was a stroke behind Broderick, tying for 52nd at 151 (77-74).

Junior Daniel Song carded a final round 73 to finish in a tie for 64th place at 153 (80-73). Song tied for tops in the field with 28 pars over his 36 holes. Classmate Sam Barton finished at 154 (79-75) to tie for 72nd place.

Lehigh had two players competing as individuals. Junior Joey Dotta turned in the low round of the day for the Mountain Hawks Monday, shooting 71. Dotta tied for 52nd place at 151 (80-71). He ranked second among Lehigh players with six birdies in this tournament.

Sophomore Marco Arosemena shot 154 (76-78) and tied for 72nd place.

Iona and host Lafayette tied for the team title at 580 with Iona winning the championship on the first playoff hole.

Justin Burkhamer of Iona was the individual medalist at six under par 138 (69-69). He defeated Bucknell's Blake Wisdom by two strokes.

Next up for the Mountain Hawks will be Villanova's Wildcat Invitational, April 18-19 in Malvern, Pa.
