BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following a one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Lehigh men's golf team returns to Saucon Valley Country Club, to host the annual Lehigh Invitational, set for Friday and Saturday on the Grace Course. The Mountain Hawks welcome 13 other teams to Saucon Valley for the two-day, 36-hole event, which will serve as Lehigh's fourth event of the fall season.

Saucon Valley Country Club, founded in 1920, has grown from 18 holes and a clubhouse to become one of the largest private clubs in North America. It encompasses 800 acres and consists of four courses, including the Weyhill Course, Old Course, Grace Course and Short Course. The Grace Course opened with nine holes in the fall of 1953 with the second nine opened for play in 1958. Named for Eugene Gifford Grace (Lehigh Class of 1899), longtime president and chairman of Bethlehem Steel, the Grace Course measures 7,051 yards from the championship tees and features greens nearly twice the size of those on the Old Course but without the severe contours.

The Mountain Hawks finished 10th out of 14 teams in 2019, with then-freshman Sam Barton the top finisher, tying for 20th place.

Lehigh is coming off a fourth place finish at the Columbia Autumn Invitational, Oct. 11 with sophomore Edmund Broderick leading the way by tying for fifth place. Three different players have led Lehigh in its first three fall tournaments. Junior Daniel Song led the Mountain Hawks in their fall-opening tournament at Colgate, while junior David Hurly was the low Lehigh player at The Doc Gimmler, hosted by St. John's.

For this weekend's tournament, Lehigh's scoring team will consist of Hurly, junior Sam Barton, Broderick, Song and Marco Arosemena. Juniors Joey Dotta and Alex Aurora, sophomore AJ Gilpin and freshmen Jahan Bains and Aidan Oehrle will play as individuals.

The 14-team field includes Bucknell, Fairfield, Felician, Fordham, Harvard, Hofstra, Holy Cross, Iona, Lafayette, Lehigh, Monmouth, Rider, Siena and William & Mary. Holy Cross won the 2019 Lehigh Invitational team title.

Friday's opening round tee times begin at 8:30 a.m., while Saturday's final round tee times will begin at 8 a.m. Lehigh will play with Lafayette and Holy Cross in round one with their tee times beginning at noon.

Live scoring will be available at http://results.golfstat.com//public/leaderboards/gsnav.cfm?pg=participants&tid=23376

Following the Lehigh Invitational, the Mountain Hawks will face Lafayette in the annual President's Cup matches in Gladstone, N.J. on Tuesday. Lehigh will also play in Charleston Southern's Daniel Island Invitational, Oct. 31-Nov. 1 in South Carolina.
