BETHLEHEM, Pa. –  Lehigh head field hockey coach Caitlin Dallmeyer announced two additions to her coaching staff on Friday, as Sarah Dwyer and Chrissy Horn were named volunteer assistant coaches. They join Dallmeyer and associate head coach Taylor Dyer to make up the Mountain Hawks' staff in 2020-21. Dwyer was a first team All-American goalkeeper at Boston College while Horn was a former Big East Rookie of the Year at Old Dominion.

"I am beyond excited to work with Sarah and Chrissy," said Dallmeyer. "Just in the past few weeks of having them in coaching meetings, I have seen the strengths they bring. Their energy and commitment to the program can already be seen in their work. We now have four tremendously well-decorated athletes turned coaches on our staff, and I know with the depth we have on the sidelines, we will be able to increase the depth we have on the field."

A recent BC graduate, Dwyer capped off her career with the Eagles by being named an NFHCA first team All-American as a senior in 2019. She finished the year with a 1.13 goals against average and 76.0 save percentage (tied for third in program history), leading Boston College to its first-ever Final Four appearance. The Eagles defeated No. 11 Northwestern in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, then No. 5 Louisville in the quarterfinals. She impressed in her first few seasons in the cage as well, posting a 1.54 GAA as a junior and 1.87 GAA as a sophomore, playing 771:18 and 1457:11, respectively. Dwyer was invited to the USA Field Hockey Young Women's National Championship. She is also a previous member of the Under 17 U.S. National Team. Also strong in the classroom, Dwyer was a consistent member of the ACC Academic Honor Roll and was named to the ACC Field Hockey Academic Team as a senior.
A native of London, England, Horn came to the United States and made her presence felt from the beginning, earning All-BIG EAST second team honors while being named the conference's Rookie of the Year in 2015. The midfielder finished with 11 points during her rookie campaign behind two goals and seven assists while starting all 19 games. Her seven helpers led the team. As a sophomore, she started every game for a second straight season and tallied three goals and four assists, being named second team All-BIG EAST once again. Also a former member of the U16 and U18 England National Teams, Horn later went on to serve as a volunteer assistant coach at ODU during the 2019-20 school year. In that role, she supported the head coach in practice sessions, helped manage and coordinate training drills, practice plans and game management, delivered instruction, motivated team members and more. Horn has other coaching experience with Saint Field Hockey Club, Focus Field Hockey Club, with several other stops as well.
Highlights were aplenty for the Mountain Hawks in 2019. Lehigh improved its final record to 7-11, including 2-4 in league play. The Mountain Hawks finished in a three-way tie for fourth place (with Holy Cross and Boston University), but the Crusaders won the tiebreaker. Fourth was Lehigh's best finish since the expansion of the Patriot League to seven teams (with the addition of Boston University). Along with their best start since 1983 and best overall record since 2007, the Mountain Hawks' 35 goals were also their most since 2007 while their 43 goals allowed were fewest since 2003. Lehigh's goal differential (-8) was also its best since 2004.
