Harry Morra parked his Ford Edge on a Bethlehem street and turned to his co-pilot — 5-year-old son Marcus — to read off a last name.

Marcus found the meal in the large cooler next to him with the corresponding name and gave it to his father.

Either Harry or his wife, Kelly, then delivered the package to a person in need of a meal during the coronavirus pandemic.

"I always knew of the Meals on Wheels program," Harry said. "But I didn't know who volunteered and what their mission was."

The Morras moved about six months ago to a house in Hanover Township. As fate would have it, Pat Schoenen, president of the board of directors at Meals on Wheels of the Greater Lehigh Valley, is one of the Morras' neighbors.

One conversation led to another, which eventually had the Morras filling out paperwork and getting clearances so they could contribute over the past several months to the program.

"At a time when we felt somewhat helpless," Kelly Morra said, "we were happy to learn about a need and opportunity to help in the community. Importantly, we wanted to include Marcus to give him a sense of how fortunate we are, especially in this current climate."

Harry Morra's path to marriage, fatherhood and a career as an assistant men's basketball at Lehigh was filled with many worthy challenges and causes — and one childhood moment that shaped his life to this point.

The Phillipsburg High and DeSales graduate's family fell apart when he was in elementary school, so he became part of New Jersey's foster care system.

At about the time he started middle school, Morra was adopted by Mike and Lois Wallbillich, who had three sons of their own and another 10 male relatives around the same age.

Morra's initiation to his new family came on the one of the nicest wooden basketball courts he's ever seen in the backyard of the Wallbilliches' Phillipsburg home.
