BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's basketball assistant coach Harry Morra received an impressive honor from Silver Waves Media this week, being named among the 50 most impactful low major assistant coaches. The list consists of coaches from 13 conferences - Horizon, Big West, Patriot League, WAC, Ohio Valley, American East, Big Sky, Atlantic Sun, Northeast, Southland, SWAC and MEAC.
Morra recently finished his fifth season back at Lehigh following a stint as video coordinator in 2011-12. That year, Morra was part of the program that won the Patriot League Tournament and earned a historic win over Duke in the NCAA Tournament. Morra then spent the next three seasons as assistant coach at his alma mater DeSales before returning to Lehigh for the 2015-16 campaign as assistant coach.
Success continued for Morra as he helped lead the Mountain Hawks to the Patriot League Championship Game in 2016 and 2017. As a program, Lehigh has finished in the top four in the Patriot League in nine of the last 11 years. Individually, Morra has worked with a number of the program's all-time best players, including CJ McCollum, Tim Kempton and Kahron Ross. At DeSales, Morra helped the program establish itself as one of the top 20 winningest programs in NCAA Division III, helping the Bulldogs go 102-39 in his time.
The Mountain Hawks fought through some early struggles in 2019-20, but never quit and finished the season 6-3 over their final nine games. It included wins over three of the four eventual Patriot League semifinal teams, as the future looks bright for Lehigh men's basketball.
