BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For a third straight season, Lehigh men's basketball senior Jordan Cohen has been named to the Academic All-Patriot League team, as announced on Wednesday. Student-athletes are only eligible as sophomores, juniors and seniors, so Cohen became just the seventh three-time Academic All-League honoree in Patriot League history.
Â
The other six three-time honorees include Lehigh's Gabe Knutson '13 along with Mike Muscala '13 (Bucknell), Joey Ptasinski '15 (Lafayette), Frank Rassman '16 (Loyola), Jesse Reed '16 (American) and Nana Foulland '18 (Bucknell).
Â
In the classroom, Cohen owns a 3.68 cumulative GPA in finance. He was recently named CoSIDA Academic All-District for a second straight year, becoming the first two-time honoree in program history). Cohen was also named a candidate for the prestigious Senior CLASS Award, entering his senior campaign with a perfect 4.0 GPA in his major, which included courses such as Statistical Methods, Corporate Finance Policy, Security Analysis and Portfolio Management. Cohen has been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll following every year, and earned a spot on the Dean's List (for a semester GPA over 3.6) in four of his first six collegiate semesters. He's also garnered the Faculty Athletics Council Award and was named the team's Scholar-Athlete of the Year following all three of his seasons so far.
Â
On the court, Cohen leads the Mountain Hawks in scoring (13.9 points per game) and assists (129 in 31 games), earning third team All-Patriot League recognition for a second straight year. Cohen currently stands 10th in the Patriot League in scoring, fourth in assists, second in free throw percentage, fifth in steals, 11th in 3-point percentage and third in assist/turnover percentage. In Tuesday's Patriot League Tournament win over Loyola, Cohen had 10 points and eight assists, with zero turnovers. Cohen has eclipsed 20 points on six occasions this season. He scored his 1,000th career point in December at Auburn. His 1,278 career points are good for 21st in program history. As a junior, Cohen finished third on the Mountain Hawks in scoring, averaging 13.6 points per game, to earn third team All-Patriot League honors.
