3/2/2020 1:02:00 PM | Men's Basketball
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following strong 2019-20 regular seasons, Lehigh men's basketball senior Jordan Cohen has been named third team All-Patriot League for a second straight season while freshman Reed Fenton was named to the All-Rookie Team. Cohen leads the Mountain Hawks in scoring, averaging a career-high 14.0 points per game. Meanwhile, Fenton has been a strong contributor all year, averaging 6.9 points and 2.4 rebounds, playing in all 30 games (with 27 starts).
Â
Cohen stands near the top of the Patriot League in scoring (10th, 14.0/game), assists (fourth, 4.0/game), free throw percentage (second, 84.3), steals (sixth, 1.3), 3-point percentage (seventh, 38.2) and assist/turnover-ratio (third, 1.3). Cohen has reached double-figure scoring on 22 occasions, scoring 20 points six times and 30 points once. Cohen posted a career-high 34 points on Jan. 22 at Holy Cross. Another highlight came at Auburn when he scored his 1,000th career point. As a junior, Cohen finished third on the Mountain Hawks in scoring, averaging 13.6 points per game, to earn third team All-Patriot League for the first time. Cohen finished the year second in the Patriot League in 3-point percentage (47.5, 47-of-99), which would have been top five nationally if he had enough attempts to qualify.
Â
Cohen has already been named CoSIDA Academic All-District (for a second straight season), and named a candidate for the prestigious Senior CLASS Award.
Â
Lehigh's first All-Rookie Team member since Kyle Leufroy in 2015-16, Fenton has been a key contributor all season. He has reached double-figure points on seven different occasions, led by a career-high 19 points in a home win over Loyola. He also scored 18 points at home vs. Army West Point and 15 a few weeks later at Army. Fenton is also an important part of Lehigh's defense, leading the Mountain Hawks in charges taken (8).
Â
Cohen, Fenton and the eighth-seeded Mountain Hawks are set to begin the Patriot League Tournament on Tuesday when they host ninth-seeded Loyola in the first round. Opening tipoff is set for 7 p.m. The first 200 students Tuesday night receive FREE admission courtesy of student auxiliary services.
