
Lehigh third after day one at Navy Spring Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – It was a bit of a tough scoring day for the Lehigh women's golf team on day one of the Navy Spring Invitational, Saturday at the Naval Academy Golf Club. Only senior Reagan Jahn broke 80 as the Mountain Hawks shot 323 in round one to sit in third place in a five-team field.
Jahn shot 79 and is tied for eighth place in a 30-player field. Sophomore Angela Ding turned in Lehigh's second-lowest score with an 80 as she sits in 11th place.
Senior Aileen Jeong and junior Minuette Laessig both shot 82 on Saturday and are tied for 14th place. Junior Rebecca Markunas sits in 24th place after an opening-round 86.
Lehigh also has freshman Alexis Carras competing as an individual. Carras is in 25th place after shooting 88.
Navy holds the 18-hole team lead with a score of 303, with Boston University in second at 307. Monmouth and Delaware State are behind Lehigh in the final two spots.
BU's Hanako Kawasaki shot three under par 69 to take the individual lead by three strokes over Navy's Christine McDonnell.
The Navy Invitational wraps up Sunday with the final 18 holes beginning at 8:30 a.m. Lehigh will once again play with Navy and Boston University.
