BETHLEHEM, Pa. — After a magical season that concluded with the third Patriot League championship in Lehigh men's soccer program history and a berth into the NCAA Tournament, postseason honors have been selected for three Mountain Hawks as the United Soccer Coaches announced All-Atlantic Region selections on Monday.
Sophomore forward Josh Luchini received the first All-Region selection of his young career, named to the First Team for an outstanding season. He was named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year and a First Team All-League selection after leading both the team and the league in goals with 11 and second in the league in points with 24. His best game of the year came against Boston University on Sept. 28, where he tallied his first career hat trick and was ultimately named National Player of the Week by both the United Soccer Coaches and College Soccer News.
This is the third consecutive year a Lehigh player has been awarded a First Team All-Region selection, following in the footsteps of former teammate and Lehigh legend Mark Forrest, who garnered nods in both 2017 and 2018.
Junior co-captain midfielder Stevo Bednarsky found himself selected on the All-Atlantic Region Second Team for the first time, and was a vital part of Lehigh's run to a Patriot League title in both the regular season and tournament. Bednarsky finished the regular season with five points on two goals and an assist and was named a First Team All-Patriot League selection for his performance.
Finally, junior midfielder Trevor Koski was named a Second Team All-Atlantic Region selection after a breakout season that saw him finish second on the team in goals and first in assists with five and five, respectively. For his season, he was a Second Team All-Patriot League selection in addition, scored the game-winning goal in the Patriot League semifinals vs. Bucknell and assisted on the game-winner in the Patriot League Championship game vs. Lafayette.
This is the first time since 2015 that three players were named All-Region selections (Jamie Luchini, Forrest and Justin Worley).
All-America honors will be revealed on Thursday, as Luchini will have a chance to become just the 15th All-American in program history and first since Forrest in 2017.
