Lehigh second after first 36 holes at Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Lehigh women's golf team is off to a strong start at the Bucknell Fall Invitational, as the Mountain Hawks shot 612 (308-304) through the opening 36 holes Saturday at the Bucknell Golf Club. With three individuals in the top 10 of a 34-player field, the Mountain Hawks sit second in the six-team field after day one. Lehigh trails Fairleigh Dickinson by seven strokes, but is 18 ahead of third place Bucknell.
 
Playing her first competitive tournament since last fall's Lehigh Invitational, senior Aileen Jeong led Lehigh in Saturday's morning round with a five over par 75. Jeong shot 77 in the afternoon and is tied for fifth place at 152.
 
Lehigh's low player on Saturday was senior Reagan Jahn, who rebounded from a 77 in the morning to shoot two over par 72, the best round of the day for the Mountain Hawks, in the afternoon. Jahn's 149 has her tied for third place.
 
Junior Minuette Laessig is the third Mountain Hawk in the top 10 as she is tied for 10th at 157 (78-79).
 
Freshman Alexis Carras made her Lehigh debut and bounced back from a morning 85 to shoot 76 in the afternoon. Carras sits in 16th place at 161.
 
Sophomore Alexis Browne shot 164 (78-86) on Saturday and is tied for 18th place.
 
Fairleigh Dickinson's Tomita Arejola and Julia Warke are tied for the individual lead at 148, one stroke ahead of Jahn, who's second round 72 matched the low round of the day.
 
The Bucknell Invitational wraps up Sunday at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start. The Mountain Hawks will play alongside FDU and Bucknell for the final 18 holes.
