Lehigh falls to Dartmouth, claims fourth place at FDU Checkmate Challenge

GALLOWAY, N.J. – The Lehigh women's golf team claimed fourth place at the FDU Checkmate Challenge after dropping its third place match to Dartmouth 4-1 Sunday at Seaview Golf Club. Junior Reagan Jahn and sophomore Minuette Laessig halved their Sunday matches to account for Lehigh's point as the Mountain Hawks went 1-2 over three weekend matches.

Jahn and Laessig both posted 1-1-1 match play records after posting wins against Hartford and losses against Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday. At the No. 1 position, Jahn halved her Sunday match against Dartmouth's Maddie Nelson, while Laessig halved hers with Catharine Roddy at No. 3. The Big Green claimed victories at No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5 to secure third place in the eight team field.

Tournament host Fairleigh Dickinson claimed the team title, defeating Navy 3-2. Hartford bested Saint Francis (Pa.) 3.5-1.5 for fifth place, while Wagner topped Siena 3.5-1.5 for seventh.

The Mountain Hawks will play in the Navy Spring Invitational, April 7-8 in Annapolis, Maryland, in what will be their final tune-up before Navy hosts the Patriot League Championship April 21-22.
