BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A balanced effort has the Lehigh women's golf team in first place after 18 holes of the Lehigh Invitational Sunday on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club. The Mountain Hawks' top four players all shot between 75 and 77 to finish at 304. Lehigh will take a four stroke lead into Monday's final round.
Senior Megan Moylan led Lehigh with a three over par 75. Moylan made three birdies in her round and sits in fifth place overall. Juniors Reagan Jahn and Aileen Jeong both shot 76 and are tied for sixth place. Jeong matched Moylan with three birdies in her round.
Sophomore Minuette Laessig is also in the top 10 as she is tied for ninth following a round of 77. Lehigh's fifth scoring player is freshman Alexis Browne, who carded an 84 and is tied for 29th place.
Sophomore Rebecca Markunas is competing as an individual, shooting 83 to tie for 26th place.
Julia Warke of Fairleigh Dickinson shot one under par 71 and holds the individual lead after 18 holes by one stroke over Maria Loza of Hartford. FDU is second to Lehigh in the team race, following a 308, while Monmouth and Saint Francis (Pa.) are tied for third place at 316.
The Lehigh Invitational concludes Monday with the final 18 holes beginning at 9:30 a.m. from the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club. Lehigh will play with Fairleigh Dickinson and Monmouth going off the first tee beginning at 10:20 a.m.
