LEWISBURG, Pa. – A tight battle emerged on the final day of the Patriot League Women's Golf Championship between Richmond, Boston University and Lehigh, Sunday at the Bucknell Golf Club. The Mountain Hawks trailed Richmond by 10 strokes at the start of the day and crept as close as four strokes of the lead, but the Spiders held off Lehigh and late-charging Boston University to claim the team title.

Lehigh shot 302 in Sunday's final round to finish at 921 (307-312-302) to finish eight strokes behind the Spiders (303-306-304-913). The Mountain Hawks had to settle for third place after Boston University shot a tournament-low round of 299 to move into second place at 919 (304-316-299).

Individually, the Mountain Hawks were led by freshman Aileen Jeong, who finished second to earn Patriot League Rookie of the Year honors, along with first team all-league accolades. Jeong was even through her first nine holes and finished at four over par 74 to finish at 16 over par 226 (75-77-74), seven strokes behind individual medalist Adela Cejnarova of Boston Universiy. Cejnarova's nine over par 219 consisted of rounds of 72, 75 and 72. Jeong and Cejnarova both recorded six birdies over 54 holes to tie for the tournament lead in that department.

Jeong is the second Mountain Hawk to earn Rookie of the Year honors, joining current senior Nicole Feierberg, who was Rookie of the Year at the inaugural Patriot League Championship at Bucknell in 2013.

In all, three of Lehigh's six entrants earned All-Patriot League honors. Junior Elizabeth McGarrigle joined Jeong on the first team, while freshman Reagan Jahn garnered second team recognition.

McGarrigle player her best round of the championship, carding a 75 on Sunday to tie for fourth place at 229 (78-76-75). Her final round included a pair of birdies.

Jahn gave Lehigh a pair of freshman all-league performers, tying for ninth place at 232 (75-81-76).

Feierberg capped her Lehigh career with a 20th place finish at 240 (82-78-80). In addition to her Rookie of the Year honor in 2013, Feierberg is a two-time All-Patriot League performer, including first-team honors last year.

Lehigh's top four finishers at the championship parred 28 of 54 holes.

Sophomores Megan Moylan and Casey Farmer both broke 80 on the final day, turning in their best respective rounds of the championship. Moylan shot 77 to finish at 241 (79-85-77) and tie for 21st place. Farmer finished the championship at 246 (84-83-79) and finished in 25th place.

With Richmond's title, four different schools (Lehigh, Bucknell, Boston University and Richmond) have won the team championship in the first four Patriot League Championship tournaments. Host Bucknell finished in fourth place, six strokes behind Lehigh, while Navy finished fifth and Holy Cross sixth.

The Mountain Hawks lose just one senior, Feierberg, to graduation and return their other five Patriot League Championship entrants, including all three all-league selections in 2016-17.
