GLADWYNE, Pa. – Back-to-back solid rounds of 297 were good enough for the Lehigh men's golf team to post a third place finish at the 14 team Finegan Invitational, hosted by La Salle Monday at Philadelphia Country Club. The Mountain Hawks' final 36 hole score of 26 over par 594 was one stroke shy of a potential three-way tie for the team championship.

Navy defeated Drexel on the second playoff hole to claim the team title. Lehigh finished one stroke behind the Midshipmen and Dragons and one ahead of fourth place Lafayette.

Two Mountain Hawk players posted top ten individual finishes, led by freshman Johnny Hsu, who tied for second place at even par 142 (72-70), four strokes behind medalist Christopher Crawford of Drexel. Hsu played the par fours in two under par and tied for second in the field with eight birdies.

Sophomore Billy Johns also recorded eight birdies en route to back-to-back rounds of 73 to tie for seventh place at 146. Johns led all players by playing the par fives in five under par.

Lehigh's three other players were freshmen. Lee Hammerschmidt posted a top 20 finish, tying for 17th at 151 (74-77). Eamon Marone shot 155 (78-77) to tie for 35th while Max Redetzke finished in 53rd place at 160 (79-81).

The Mountain Hawks will next face rival Lafayette in stroke play Tuesday April 26 at Silver Creek Country Club in Hellertown, Pa., in the final tune-up before the Patriot League Championship April 30-May 1 in Annapolis, Md.
