BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Fans who have attended Lehigh's early-season basketball games may have noticed some changes to Stabler Arena. Lehigh Athletics recently implemented several upgrades to Stabler Arena for the 2016-17 basketball seasons, including new baskets, new scoreboards with LED video technology and new LED displays at the scorer's table.
Â
"With dynamic content, live cameras, and state of the art technology on the video boards and LED tables, these new features will greatly improve the fan experience in Stabler Arena," said Rich Haas '00, Lehigh Assistant Athletic Director for Sales and Marketing. Our staff is excited to provide an enhanced game day atmosphere for our student-athletes and fans."
Â
Stabler Arena now features two new competition baskets, the same model used at the NCAA Men's and Women's Final Four in 2016. The baskets have a longer arm, with a base that sits back further from the end line for player safety. The baskets also include new three-sided LED shot and time clocks.

In addition, two new scoreboards have been installed, measuring 10 feet high and 17 feet wide, featuring enhanced video technology. These boards enable the display of video, vivid graphics, sponsored content, animations and more. LED technology has also been installed at the scorer's tables, providing similar capabilities as the scoreboards.
Â
Other upgrades to Stabler Arena include a timing countdown clock for the locker room, end-of-period LED light strips on each basket and the scorer's table, and two fixed-digit scoreboards for the corners opposite the scoreboards, thus providing scoreboards visible to fans in all four corners of Stabler Arena.
Â
"The video board and LED upgrades to Stabler Arena help promote greater fan engagement and interactivity during Lehigh Basketball games," said head men's basketball coach Brett Reed. "It allows us to recognize our corporate sponsors in a high-quality way and ultimately enhances the gameday experience for Lehigh basketball for what should be an exciting 2016-17 season."
Â
"We're excited to have the video boards as part of our game day experience and feel they will be a great enhancement to the experience of being a Lehigh basketball fan," added head women's basketball coach Sue Troyan. "It will also provide a great opportunity to get a closer look into the lives of our players and all they balance in their experience as a Lehigh student-athlete."
Â
Check out the upgrades during the 2016-17 basketball seasons. The Lehigh women will host the Christmas City Classic, presented by Best Western Saturday and Sunday at Stabler Arena, while the next men's home game is Dec. 3 against Robert Morris. Tickets are available at LehighTickets.com or by clicking here.
