BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh volleyball team will close out the regular season with two Patriot League road matches this weekend, beginning with a trip to Army West Point on Friday and finishing up with a match at Holy Cross on Saturday. Friday's match with the Black Knights will begin at 7 p.m. and Saturday's contest with the Crusaders is slated to get underway at 4 p.m.

Live stream for both matches will be available on the Patriot League Network and live stats will provided by the respected host schools.

The Mountain Hawks enter the final two matches tied with Navy for the fourth spot in the Patriot League standings and the final seed in the Patriot League Tournament. Navy has to travel to Lafayette on Saturday and Loyola on Sunday for its final two matches this weekend. If Lehigh and Navy finished with the same conference record at the end of the weekend, Lehigh holds the tiebreaker and will qualify for the PL Tournament. Even though Lehigh and Navy split the season series, Lehigh beat Navy in four sets, while Navy needed five sets to defeat Lehigh, thus giving the Mountain Hawks the advantage in a tiebreaker situation.

Lehigh put itself in position for a Patriot League postseason spot with an upset victory over Patriot League No. 1 seed American last Saturday at home on Senior Day. Freshman Ana Spangenberg led the Mountain Hawks to victory as she posted a match-high 16 kills on an impressive .609 hitting percentage and finished tied for the match lead with three total blocks. For her stellar effort, Spangenberg earned the honor of Patriot League Player of the Week.

Army West Point is coming off a pair Patriot League victories last weekend at home over Lafayette and Navy, and currently sits third in the Patriot League standings. Haven Bethune earned Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors as she guided the Black Knights to their two victories last week, including a five-set win over Navy. In the straight-set victory over Lafayatte, the freshman posted 25 assists and added six digs and two kills. Against the Midshipmen, she registered a career-high 55 assists and dished out 13 digs to tally her fifth double-double of the season. Bethune finished the week with 80 assists (10 a/s) and 19 digs.

Holy Cross is coming off a two-match homestand last weekend with a 3-1 loss to Navy and a 3-1 win over Lafayette. The Crusaders will host Bucknell on Friday before facing the Mountain Hawks on Saturday. HC is currently sixth in the Patriot League and is not in contention for postseason play. The Crusaders are led offensively by Mandy Shifferlen who ranks first in the Patriot League with 448 kills and a 4.77 kills-per-set average.

Lehigh is 3-7 on the road this season and 3-3 in Patriot League road contests. Army is 6-6 at home this season and is 5-1 at home against Patriot League opponents with the lone loss to American. Holy Cross has compiled a 5-11 record at home throughout the season and is 1-5 against conference opponents with the lone win against Lafayette last Saturday.

The Mountain Hawks are 1-4 in the last five meetings with the Black Knights in West Point, N.Y. with the lone win in 2014. Lehigh has won the last eight meetings with Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass having not lost since 2007.
