?Bethlehem Steel FC Announce Inaugural 2016 USL Schedule
CHESTER, Pa. (Jan. 26, 2016) – Bethlehem Steel FC released the club's inaugural 30-match regular season league schedule on Tuesday, following the official announcement from the United Soccer League. Bethlehem Steel FC will start their inaugural season on Friday, March 25, at FC Montreal and officially open their doors at Lehigh University's Goodman Stadium the following week on Sunday, April 3 against FC Cincinnati with a scheduled 3 p.m. Kickoff.
With the additions of Bethlehem Steel FC and five other expansion teams, FC Cincinnati, Orlando City B, Rio Grande Valley FC, the Swope Park Rangers and San Antonio, the 29-team USL will consist of 15 teams in the Western Conference and 14 in the Eastern Conference during the 2016 season.
Bethlehem Steel FC will play a total of 30 matches, 15 at home and 15 away, all against Eastern Conference opponents. They'll play New York Red Bulls II, Pittsburgh Riverhounds, FC Montreal and Harrisburg City Islanders three times and each of the remaining nine Eastern Conference teams twice. Opponents
Three matches against (two home): Pittsburgh Riverhounds and New York Red Bulls II.
Three matches against (two away): FC Montreal and Harrisburg City Islanders.
Two matches against (home and away): Charleston Battery, Charlotte Independence, FC Cincinnati, Louisville City FC, Orlando City B, Richmond Kickers, Rochester Rhinos, Toronto FC II, Wilmington Hammerheads FC.
The top eight teams from each conference will then progress to the playoffs where they will compete in a single-elimination bracket. The two conference champions will advance to the 2016 USL Championship.
Full season member packages start at $176, while smaller plans start at just $50. Group tickets (groups of 15 or more) and individual game tickets are also on sale. As of today, individual game tickets purchased in advance of game day range from $13-$25 with day-of-game pricing an additional $2 ($15-$27).
