Carotenuto named Patriot League Rookie of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh freshman Teresa Carotenuto was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week on Monday following her stellar performance in a 4-2 loss to Bucknell on Saturday. Carotenuto scored a career-high two goals to give the Mountain Hawks a 2-1 lead which stood until midway through the second half.
The Macungie, Pa. native scored at the 6:53 mark to give Lehigh a 1-0 lead and after a Bucknell goal, would score again at 19:31 to put the Mountain Hawks back on top. The Bison would respond by scoring three unanswered goals, including the game's final goal at 55:30.
Carotenuto leads Lehigh with three goals and is second on the team with six points this season. The award marks Lehigh's first weekly award of 2015.
The Mountain Hawks will return home on Saturday to take on archival Lafayette. The game is set to begin at 11 a.m. Lehigh remains home on Sunday to host Siena at 12 p.m.
