Ice Hockey Team Wins Two League Games Against Penn State Berks

The Lehigh Ice Hockey team won two against ECHA opponent Penn State Berks. The first game was played at home and Berks scored first. Chris Ramondelli tied the game with assists from Adam Goldstein and Ryan Staffen. The first period ended at 1-1.
Henry Brooks broke the tie at 5:14 of the second period with help from Chris Ramondelli and Kevin McGee. Berks tied the score soon after. The game went back and forth with McGee scoring with assists from line mates Ramondelli and Brooks. Then, late in the third period, Lehigh converted for 3 goals to make the score 6-3 to end the second period. Adam Goldstein started it with a goal assisted by line mates Evan Goldstein and Scott Mogerely. McGee scored again with assists from Ramondelli and Brooks. Belcastro finished the period with a power play goal in front of the net helped by Joe Ramondelli and Andrew Clayton.
Berks scored early in the third but Lehigh dominated and got one final goal from Evan Goldstein from Adam Goldstein and Scott Mogerley. The final was 7-4 with a good performance in net from the ever reliable Patrick Walgren.

Game 2 took place at the Body Zone near Reading, PA. Lehigh came out very flat and immediately went down 2-0. Chris Ramondelli made it 2-1 with a power play goal assisted by McGee and Clayton.
Lehigh played much better in the second period as Clayton scored a power play goal off the face off from assisted by the Ramondelli brothers. Berks answered. Brooks tied it up with help from McGee and Chris Ramondelli. Berks added a goal to finish the period ahead 4-3.
In the third period, Lehigh started to wear down Berks. Brian Loughran followed up a rush up ice to score a tying goal knocking in the rebound off a Evan Goldstein shot. Adam Goldstein also assisted. With the game tied and looking like overtime was a possibility, Henry Brooks scored the game winner with an assist from Chris Ramondelli.
Lehigh was outshot 2 to 1 in the game, but Andrew Carlin, who was making his Lehigh debut, was string in net and helped secure the win.
Lehigh's penalty kill was outstanding during the weekend, preventing a goal on all 9 of Berks' power play opportunities. Congratulations to specialists Steve and Alec Friedman and Evan and Adam Goldstein along with defensive partners Clayton, Ramondelli, Belcastro, Stephen Flego and Justin Uzcategui.
