Ice Hockey Team Beats Navy for First Time in Five Years

Lehigh beats Navy 6-4 for the first time in 5 years. The Mountain Hawks never trailed in the game, scoring the first two goals on the power play. Chris Ramondelli scored first, assisted by Andrew Clayton. Kevin McGee scored soon after with help from Ramondelli and Joe Belcastro. Lehigh finished the first period up 2-0.
Play went back and forth in the second period with goalie Andrew Carlin making some key saves. Henry Brooks scored the next goal when he picked up a loose puck and blasted it by the Navy goalie. Navy responded on the power play to make it 3-1. Brooks extended the lead after being sent on a break away by Ramondelli.  Navy got a late goal to send the teams to the locker room at 4-2.
Navy came out flying in the third period scoring an early goal and putting constant pressure on Carlin. Midway through the period, Navy tied the score and it looked like another game where Navy's conditioning proves too much for Lehigh. With 3 minutes to go in the game, Henry Brooks responded with a hat trick goal assisted by McGee and Ramondelli. Lehigh hung on until Ramondelli intercepted a pass at center ice and scored an empty net goal to finish a remarkable victory.
Lehigh goes 5 and 1 in league play and 8 and 6 overall.
