Lehigh heads to Colgate Friday before returning home to host Bucknell Saturday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh volleyball team will travel to Colgate Friday at 6 p.m. in the final contest of a seven-match road swing before the Mountain Hawks return home Saturday to face Bucknell at 4 p.m. inside Leeman-Turner Arena. Free video of Saturday's match against Bucknell will be available on the Patriot League Network.
 
The Mountain Hawks carry a 15-11 overall record and 7-4 mark in league play into this weekend's action. Lehigh's 7-4 league record stands tied with Colgate for third in the Patriot League. The Mountain Hawks have won three of their last four matches, with the three victories being straight-set wins at Holy Cross, Lafayette and Loyola. Lehigh is 7-3 at home this season compared to its away record of 5-5.

Senior Leah Turner leads the team with 316 kills, while classmate Stephanie Slater follows with 257. Senior Ana Vrhel has stuffed a team-best 98 blocks to go along with a squad-high 36 service aces and a strong .315 hitting percentage. Senior Amy Matula leads the team with 677 assists and junior Mariah Brantley has registered 329 digs. The Mountain Hawks have hit .231 as a team this season while limiting their opponents to a clip of .217.
 
Colgate is 9-13 overall and its 7-4 league record has the Raiders tied for third place in the Patriot League with Lehigh. Colgate has won four of its last five matches, picking up wins over Loyola, Bucknell, Lafayette and Holy Cross, while dropping a 3-1 match to Army West point in its most recent action last Saturday. Kathleen Harris leads the team with 241 kills, while Katie Stebbins follows with 151. Molly Smith has dished a team-best 401 assists, while Harris also leads the squad with 242 digs. The Raiders have hit .225 as a team in league play compared to their season-long hitting percentage of .187.
 
The Mountain Hawks battled for a 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-19) win over the Raiders in the season's first meeting on Oct. 3 in Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall. Turner led the way for Lehigh, tallying her third-straight double-double with 22 kills, 17 digs and an outstanding .488 hitting percentage. The Mountain Hawks finished the match hitting .321 and limited Colgate to a clip of .184. Colgate leads the all-time series, 36-17.
 
Bucknell is fighting to get into playoff contention with a 4-7 league record that ties the Bison for fifth place in the Patriot League standings. Bucknell is 10-11 overall this season and will host Lafayette Friday evening before heading to Lehigh Saturday. The Bison have dropped their last three matches, losing 3-0 at American and Army West Point and falling 3-2 at Navy. Bucknell is 3-6 away from home this season. Karen Campbell leads the team with 234 kills, a .349 hitting percentage and 91 total blocks. Meghan Wentzel has dished a team-best 710 assists, while Blake Buchholz leads the squad with 237 digs. The Bison have hit just .172 in league play compared to their season-long hitting percentage of .195.
 
The Mountain Hawks fought for 3-2 (25-19, 23-25, 25-14, 22-25, 15-6) win over the Bison in the season's first meeting in Lewisburg, Pa. Turner led Lehigh with a career-high 25 kills and 19 digs to go along with a .305 hitting percentage. Slater followed with 18 kills, while sophomore Whitney Krantz chipped in ten. Lehigh has won the last five meetings between the two programs and holds a 44-27 all-time series advantage.
 
Following this weekend's action, Lehigh will head to first-place American on Nov. 6 at 7 p.m.
