Lehigh Beats Temple in League Play

Lehigh improved its record to 2-5 with a big win over ECHA league member Temple. Kevin McGee started the scoring 4 minutes into the first period with an assist from Chris Ramondelli. Temple answered immediately to tie the game and then went ahead on a 5 on 3 power play goal. Midway through the first period, Eric DelGizzo scored his first goal as a Mountainhawk on a power play assisted by Evan Goldstein and Ramondelli. With the scored tied at 2 apiece, the first period ended.

Temple scored the first 2 goals of the first period to make the score 4-2. Lehigh was not going to give up. Not tonight. With both teams playing with four players, Ramondelli backhanded a rebound high into the net to get to within 1 goal. Thirty seconds later, Henry Brooks tied the score at 4-4 from a nice feed from Scott Mogerley across the crease area. Jake Homan added an assist. Ramondelli kept the momentum going with a goal to put Lehigh up at 5-4. McGee and Andrew Clayton assisted. Temple tied the game on another 5 on 3 power play goal after 2 Lehigh players were called for penalties at the same time. Lehigh answered with 2 seconds remaining in the period as McGee went top shelf off a great pass from Clayton. Lehigh went into the locker room leading 6-5 and determined to win the game.

Lehigh dominated the third period scoring 2 goals on their way to an 8-5 finish. Stephen Friedman knotted a goal on the power play from McGee and Adam Goldstein. McGee got his third of the night from Brooks and Homan to finish the scoring.
