BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Following a heartbreaking loss at Bucknell, the Lehigh men's basketball team will look to get back to its winning ways on Saturday when the Mountain Hawks begin the second round of Patriot League play at home vs. Boston University. Tipoff in Stabler Arena is set for 2 p.m. Lehigh will look to avenge a tough loss in Boston earlier this month as the Mountain Hawks vie for their third straight home win.

Lehigh opened a 16-point lead midway through the second half at Bucknell Wednesday, but the Bison outscored the Mountain Hawks 34-12 the rest of the way to pull out the 68-62 victory. Zach Thomas was the story for Bucknell, scoring 19 points including 15 in the final six and a half minutes. He knocked down three straight three-pointers to turn a one-point Bison deficit into a four-point, 64-60 lead. His last trey was long, well behind the arc and banked in with just 1:27 remaining. It effectively served as the dagger as the Mountain Hawks couldn't pull any closer than three the rest of the way.

Freshman Kahron Ross led the Lehigh offense with 18 points (just one short of a career high) to go with four rebounds and four assists. Junior Justin Goldsborough tallied 14 points and five rebounds, shooting 6-of-8 from the field. Sophomore Tim Kempton finished with 11 points and six rebounds (all in the first half) in just 21 minutes due to foul trouble.

In the end, Lehigh fell just short of its fourth win in the last five tries at Bucknell. The Mountain Hawks have enjoyed success on the road this season, highlighted by road victories at DePaul, Arizona State, Army and Lafayette. Even with Wednesday's loss, Lehigh is still 6-4 over its last ten games away from home. Meanwhile, the Mountain Hawks return to Stabler on Saturday where they've won their last two games - over Holy Cross (69-64) and Navy (61-47).

The Mountain Hawks enter Saturday's game in a six-way tie for fourth place in the Patriot League standings. Boston University is one of the other five teams.

Boston University's win earlier this season gave the Terriers a 3-1 advantage in the all-time series. Boston U won the first-ever meeting in 1968-69 by an 81-56 final. The teams split last year's season series as the Terriers won a tight 67-66 game at Lehigh before the Mountain Hawks responded with an 82-80 overtime victory the following month.

Boston University began Patriot League play red-hot, beginning 3-0 with wins over Holy Cross, Lehigh and Navy. Since, the Terriers have lost five of their last six, including two straight. Most recently, Boston University lost to Army, 71-67 on Thursday. Cedric Hankerson leads the offense, scoring 17.1 points per game. Nathan Dieudonne is the leading rebounds with 7.7 boards per game (also good for second in the league). Eric Fanning is second on the team in scoring (10.9 points per game), primarily off the bench. Dieudonne comes in at 9.8 points per game while John Papale has scored 9.7 per contest. In the first meeting between Lehigh and Boston University, the Terriers shot an impressive 56 percent (14-of-25) from three-point range. Papale and Cheddi Mosely were a combined 9-of-11 from long distance. The Terriers opened a big second-half lead before the Mountain Hawks ended the game on a 15-0 run.

After Saturday's game, Lehigh will remain home on Wednesday to host Army at 7 p.m. The Mountain Hawks then hit the road next Saturday (Feb. 7) at Loyola.
