BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's basketball team picked up a much-needed 67-54 win over Boston University on Saturday afternoon inside Stabler Arena on Play 4Kay day. The Mountain Hawks won their first-ever game over Boston University and improved to 6-0 all-time in Lehigh's pink game. Lehigh improves to 3-7 in league play and 10-11 overall, while the Terriers fall to 8-15 overall and 3-7 in the league.

"It's good to get a win and I thought the girls played well on both ends of the floor," said head coach Sue Troyan. "We made some adjustments that they responded well to. The kids stepped up today and hopefully we can gain some confidence from this game."

The Mountain Hawk defense allowed a season-low 54 points from the Terriers, as BU finished the game shooting 32.1 percent (18-for-56) from the field, 27.3 percent (6-for-22) from three-point range and just 52.2 percent (12-for-23) from the charity stripe. Lehigh shot 40.0 percent (24-for-60) from the floor and converted 16 of its 24 free throw attempts.

Sophomore Elizabeth Sharlow tallied her second career double-double with 14 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. Junior Sarah Williams tallied 12 points and a team-leading six assists, while sophomore Kerry Kinek posted 11 points.  Senior Lindsay Hoskins went 5-for-5 from the charity stripe and finished with seven points.

The Terriers' Danielle Callahan finished with a game-high 19 points, while Rashidat Agboola followed with ten. Callahan also dished a game-high seven assists.

BU got out to a 6-0 start thanks to four points from Mollie McKendrick, before a three-pointer from freshman Kayla Burton got the Mountain Hawks on the board. Sophomore Amina Affini sunk another three-pointer a minute later to knot the score at six. Two three-pointers from BU's Danielle Callahan helped the Terriers make an 8-2 run that gave them a 16-8 cushion with 14:09 left in the half.

Down 18-10 three minutes later, a Lexi Martins layup sparked an 11-0 Mountain Hawk run that included seven points from Hoskins to take a 21-18 lead with 7:34 on the clock. The Terriers were able to jump back out to a slim 25-24 advantage, but baskets from three different Mountain Hawks reclaimed the Lehigh lead at 29-25. BU's Meghan Green tossed in a layup to close out the half, but Lehigh held onto a 29-27 lead heading into halftime.

Six points from Kinek extended Lehigh's lead to 35-30 and forced a BU timeout to start the second half. The score remained the same for over two minutes until a Sharlow layup kicked off a 6-2 Lehigh run and gave the Mountain Hawks a commanding 41-32 lead with 13:19 to play.

BU answered with back-to-back three-pointers from Callahan and Melissa Gallo to pull within three, but four more points from Kinek re-established an eight point Mountain Hawk advantage at 47-39.

Leading by six with 3:18 to play, junior Katie O'Reilly drained a trey that was followed by a Williams layup to give Lehigh's its largest lead yet at 60-49. After a three-pointer from BU's Sarah Hope, the rest of the contest's points came from the charity stripe. Lehigh converted 7-of-10 free throws in the final 2:32 including six from Williams to close out the win.
