Traditions of Excellence: Legacy Snippets
11/20/2014 10:40:00 AM | Student Athlete
Hey all! We have got something special for you this week! The Fall Leadership Legacies, a group of veteran team leaders and captains in the Lehigh Leadership Academy, recently wrapped up with their program for the year. During the last workshop, each student-athlete reflected on what they have learned while serving as a team leader. We were able to gain an exclusive look at their reflections, and it is clear that the Five Pillars of Leadership have played an important role in their development and lessons learned! We hope you enjoy!
Much love,
Wags and Walsh

"I've learned that a leader must be willing to accept praise for winning and blame for a loss." #toughness
Joshua Parris ('15), Football

"I learned to make a greater investment in my teammates and I challenged myself to hold them accountable for the standards of the team and the standards I uphold everyday." #integrity
Ashley Blanks ('15), Women's Soccer

"It wasn't until this past spring when I got feedback from the 360 leadership survey that showed me I wasn't the leader I thought I was, both in my coaches and teammates eyes. I started leading in a much more constructive, vocal, and positive way. I learned that you can't just lead one way and expect everyone to be ok with it." #self-awareness
Ali Famili ('15), Men's Soccer
"I've learned that you can't just show up on game day and be there for everyone else. The effort has to be there all the time." #competitiveness
Zoey Pacheco ('16), Field Hockey
"I've learned that leadership is something that cannot be undertaken alone, especially with a team the size of ours. Anyone and everyone plays a role on a team." #team-first
