Pelletier repeats as Rookie of the Week following 214-yard receiving day

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For the second consecutive week Lehigh freshman Troy Pelletier has been named the Corvias Patriot League Rookie of the Week. Pelletier followed his seven-catch, 187-yard day at Georgetown by catching ten passes for 214 yards and a score in Lehigh's 27-20 loss at Holy Cross.
Pelletier established new career highs in both receptions and receiving yards, with the 214 receiving yards tying for the seventh-highest single game total in school annals. He also posted the seventh-best single game receiving total in the FCS this season. Pelletier finished the first half with four catches for 98 yards and came out of the locker room strong with a 58-yard touchdown reception on Lehigh's first drive of the second half.
With Lehigh trying to erase a 14 point deficit, Pelletier caught five passes for 89 yards in the third quarter alone. He caught a 27-yard pass from sophomore Nick Shafnisky on the opening play of the fourth quarter to go over 200 yards before leaving the game due to injury.
Pelletier's 214 yards are the most in a single game by a Lehigh freshman as the Deerfield, N.H. native became the first Mountain Hawk to eclipse 200 receiving yards in a game since Lee Kurfis had more than 200 in Lehigh's first two games in 2013.
For the season, Pelletier has 39 receptions for a team-leading 701 yards and six touchdowns. He has gained more than 100 receiving yards three times in his rookie campaign.
The Mountain Hawks close out their home schedule on Saturday when they host Colgate on Military Appreciation Day at Goodman Stadium.
