BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After a pair of dominating victories over Loyola last weekend, the Lehigh swimming and diving teams return to action Saturday against Patriot League rival Bucknell on Senior Day. Five seniors will be competing in their final competition at Jacobs Pool, as the Mountain Hawks look to end the home season on a high note. Saturday's meet gets underway with diving at 10 a.m. followed by swimming at 1 p.m.

The Mountain Hawk men enjoyed a dominant performance against Patriot League newcomer Loyola in their most recent meet, winning 13 out of 16 events on their way to a 209-53 victory. A new standard was set at Jacobs Pool as the 800 free relay team featuring juniors Danny Bennett Owen Dunbar and Eric Sherwood teamed with freshman Justin White to finish the race with a mark of 6:58.97.

Freshmen Kevin Huntley, Jacob Moyar and White led Lehigh with two individual first places finishes apiece.  White added victories in both the 100 free (47.86) and 200 free (1:45.58) to his already impressive day. Huntley claimed wins in both the 100 breast (1:01.46) and 200 breast (2:13.32) and Moyar dominated the 200 fly (1:52.24) and 200 individual medley (1:57.25) to earn Patriot League Male Swimmer of the Week recognition.

Junior Sean Brant also took home first in the 200 back (1:55.81), while the 200 medley relay team of Jamal Willis, Chris Hoke, Marty Kendig and Jake Hassel collected another Lehigh victory.

Four Lehigh men will be swimming in their final home meet on Saturday: Connor Cackovic, Matt Chrzanowski, Alex Heintzelman and Chris Hoke. Stephanie Yaszemski is the lone senior swimmer on the women's side.

The women's team rivaled the success of the men as they enjoyed a 192-70 win over the Greyhounds to move to 6-1 on the season by winning 14 of the 16 events.  The 800 yard freestyle relay team comprised of freshmen Kelly Carroll and Cora Summerfield and sophomores Carolyn Koch and Courtney Patterson set a Jacobs Pool record with a 7:47.98 mark.

Patterson, who led the Hawks with three first place finishes in the 200 free (1:53.44), 500 free (5:05.84) and 200 individual medley (2:10.30) had a very impressive day as she also anchored the 800 free relay team.

Junior Kimberly Weyand took home the 100 breast title with a time of 1:08.41, while sophomore Melissa Feeney captured the 200 breast (2:27.59).

Both Lehigh teams lost to Bucknell last season, but a revamped Mountain Hawk squad seeks revenge against their interstate rival. The Bison women boast a 7-1 record heading into Saturday's meet, while the men's team stands at 6-3.

Following Saturday's meet against the Bison, Lehigh will split its squad for the final day of the regular season as some of the Mountain Hawk swimmers will compete in the Navy Invitational, while others will compete in a dual meet at Drexel.
