Lehigh returns home to host Central Connecticut State Sunday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's soccer team heads into the weekend looking for its first victory of the season as the Mountain Hawks host the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils on Sunday at the Ulrich Sports Complex. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. and will be broadcast on the Patriot League Network.

Lehigh is coming off a tough 2-0 loss to Villanova last Sunday. The Wildcats scored in the 19th minute and then again in the 76th minute to seal the victory. Villanova had a 20-7 edge in shots, while Lehigh junior goalkeeper Ashley Blanks made three saves in the second half. The Mountain Hawks opened their season with a hard-fought 1-0 defeat to Monmouth last Thursday.

The Blue Devils come to Bethlehem trying to garner their first win of the season as well. They are currently 0-2, losing to both University of Maine and University of Connecticut. The Blue Devils look to turn this season around after finishing 4-13-1 last year.

This will be the first ever meeting between the Mountain Hawks and the Blue Devils as Lehigh looks to start this series off on the right foot. It also marks the second straight day Lehigh and CCSU face off on the Goodman Campus following a football matchup at Goodman Stadium on Saturday.

Following this weekend, the Mountain Hawks head out to California for the St. Mary's College Classic where they will go head to head with the Pacific Tigers and the St. Mary's Gaels.
