Mountain Hawks finish 13th at Navy Spring Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – In its final tournament before hosting next week's Patriot League Championship, the Lehigh men's golf team finished 13th at the Navy Invitational, which concluded Sunday at the Naval Academy Golf Club. The Mountain Hawks followed a team round of 310 on Saturday with a 317 on Sunday to finish at 627 in the two-day, 36-hole event.
 
Sophomore Carlos Kim was Lehigh's top finisher, tying for 40th place at 155 (75-80). Senior Sean Keller led Lehigh on Sunday with a 78 and finished the weekend at 78-78-156 to tie for 48th.
 
Freshman Harley Abrams and junior Alex DiClemente tied for 68th place at 160. Abrams struggled on Sunday, shooting 84 after an opening round 76, while DiClemente shot 81 Saturday and 79 on Sunday. Junior Andrew Arnold was Lehigh's fifth competitor, and he tied for 87th at 84-80-164.
 
Towson's Joe Gunerman shot a final round 69 to earn medalist honors at two over par 144, one shot better than Evan Beck of Wake Forest and Trevor Cone of Virginia Tech.
 
Virginia and Penn tied for the team title at 599, two shots better than the Hokies and Demon Deacons, who tied for third. There were five Patriot League teams in the 21-team field. Among them, Lehigh finished behind host Navy and ahead of Bucknell, Lafayette and Colgate.
 
The Mountain Hawks will host the Patriot League Championship April 27-28 on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club.
