Mountain Hawks improve on final day of Hartford Hawk Invitational

SOUTH KENT, Conn. – The Lehigh men's golf team wrapped-up action at the Hartford Hawk Invitational Tuesday at the Bull's Bridge Golf Club. The Mountain Hawks finished strong as all five players broke 80 on the day, en route to a team score of 302 as Lehigh finished 13th in the 16 team field with a score of 929 (320-307-302).
 
Sophomore Carlos Kim and freshman Harley Abrams tied for top honors for the Brown and White as both men tied for 35th place at 231. Kim and Abrams both shot 75 on Tuesday, while Abrams fired the low round in the tournament for Lehigh, a second-round 74 on Monday.
 
Both juniors on the Lehigh roster; Alex DiClemente and Andrew Arnold shot 76 on Tuesday. DiClemente tied for 48th place at 234 (78-80-76), while Arnold finished one shot behind at 235 (81-78-76).
 
Senior Sean Keller tied for 72nd place finishing at 244 (80-85-79).
 
Temple's Brandon Matthews won a three-way playoff to earn medalist honors. Matthews, Sacred Heart's Peter Ballo and Iona's Dylan Newman all shot 214.
 
Hartford had the next three individual finishers after the three in the playoff as the Hawks won the team title at 875 (286-298-291) to win by 20 shots over runners-up Boston College and Sacred Heart.
 
Next up for the Mountain Hawks is a dual match with Lafayette Tuesday October 9 at Hamilton Farm Golf Club in Gladstone, N.J.
