Lehigh finishes strong at Patriot League Championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – After a rough start to the Patriot League Championships on Saturday, Lehigh shot a 287 in Sunday's final round to tie for fifth overall with a score of 900 (306, 307, 287). Junior Doug Marcincin shot the tournament's low round, a three under par 68, to tie for eighth overall at 219 (77, 74, 68) as he earned a spot on the All-Patriot League second team for the second straight year.
Others who competed for Lehigh included senior Duncan Zeiders who tied for 20th place at 229 (79, 77, 73), junior Tim Rosenhouse, who finished at 230 (76, 79, 75) to tie for 22nd, senior Dwight D'Iorio, who tied for 26th at 232 (81, 77, 74) and freshman Alex DiClemente who shot 239 (82, 80, 77) and tied for 35th place.
Thirty six hole co-leader Matt Krembel of Army shot a final round 70 to win the individual title at even par 213 (71, 72, 70). Krembel bested David Hall of Navy and Carter Rufe of Lafayette by two strokes. The top five finishers were named to the All-Patriot League first team, while finishers six through ten earned second team honors.
Army shot a final round 290 as a team to finish at 870 (293, 287, 290). The Black Knights beat rival Navy by four strokes. Lafayette finished in third nine shots back while Holy Cross took fourth, four shots ahead of Lehigh and Bucknell who tied for fifth.
