Busy Lehigh weekend on tap for ESPN Radio

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – It’s shaping up to be an exciting weekend for a number of Lehigh teams, and fans who can’t make it to the events can still feel a part of the action thanks to ESPN Radio of the Lehigh Valley. In all, up to four Mountain Hawks’ events will air live on the Radio Home of Lehigh Athletics this weekend.
Action gets underway Saturday afternoon when the regular season champion women’s basketball team begins its quest for a second straight league title. After the best regular season in school history, Lehigh (26-3 overall) will open Patriot League Tournament play against No. 8 Bucknell. The game is scheduled to tip off at 2:30 p.m. from Hart Center in Worcester, Mass. ESPN Radio of the Lehigh Valley will begin its coverage at 2:15 Saturday afternoon with Jeff Tourial courtside.
Should the women’s team beat the Bison for the third time this season, Lehigh will advance to the semifinal round on Sunday at 1 p.m. against either Army or Holy Cross. That would set up a triple-header on ESPN Radio Sunday starting at 1 p.m.
After Sunday’s women’s game, fans can stay tuned for the EIWA wrestling championships live from Stabler Arena. The Mountain Hawks will be gunning for their 35th all-time EIWA crown, and Steve Lomangino will have the live coverage beginning at 2:45 p.m. from the STAR, or immediately following the women’s basketball coverage.
Sunday’s potential triple-header concludes that evening, with live coverage of the Patriot League men’s basketball semifinal between top seed Lehigh (20-10) and No. 4 American. Matt Kerr and Greg Falkenbach will be at Stabler to deliver the action, with tip-off set for just after 8 p.m.
Since 2004, Nassau Broadcasting’s ESPN Radio of the Lehigh Valley has been the exclusive radio home of Lehigh football, basketball, and wrestling. ESPN Radio can be heard locally on 1230 AM and 1320 AM, and all of this weekend’s broadcasts will be streamed live on Lehighsports.com.
