Mountain Hawks wrap up play at Navy Invite

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Lehigh finished up action at the Navy Invite on Sunday as the Mountain Hawks shot a 312 over the final 18 holes to finish with a score of 623 for the weekend.  That placed the Brown and White in ninth place in the 21-team tournament.  Navy won the team championship as the Midshipmen shot a 592 (286, 306), while Bucknell was second (596), Columbia placed third (602), Lafayette was next (603) and St. Francis (Pa.) finished fifth with a 605.  Doug Marcincin was Lehigh’s top individual finisher after shooting a 152 (78, 76), which placed him in a tie for 18th place.

Other Mountain Hawks that competed throughout the weekend include Steve Suarez who tied for 32nd with a 154 (78, 76), Tim Rosenhouse, who shot a 155 (77, 78) and tied for 36th place, Dylan Evans, who finished 90th after shooting a 167 (80, 87) and Mac D’Iorio, who shot a 169 (87, 82) and placed 92nd.

 

Navy’s Ben Hayes won the individual championship with a 142 (67, 75), while Columbia’s Clark Granum shot a 143 (71, 72) and placed second.


Lehigh now enters the final week of its season as the Mountain Hawks will compete in the Lehigh Valley Invite on Tuesday before heading to Hamilton, New York on April 24 to take part in the 2010 Patriot League championship.
