Department of Athletics to Host First Annual Lehigh University “Education Day”

Lehigh University's Department of Athletics will host the First Annual Lehigh University "Education Day" on Wednesday, December 1, 2010. The event will further strengthen the relationship between Lehigh University and the local community and will run in conjunction with the women's basketball game against St. Joseph's University at 12 pm in Stabler Arena.
The Department of Athletics has invited administrators, teachers and students from local area elementary and middle schools to take part "Education Day" and educational curriculum centered around the game will be conducted in the classroom in the week prior to the game. Event activities include a pre-game educational program with Lehigh student-athletes and halftime contests, and will begin in Stabler Arena beginning at 10 am that day, followed by the 2009-10 Patriot League Lehigh Mountain Hawks women's basketball game.
Tickets will be provided free of charge to all students, faculty and chaperones attending, and St. Luke's and TD Bank are sponsors for the event. Currently, nearly 1,500 elementary and middle school students are planning to participate.
