Men's golf finishes action at Richmond Intercollegiate

RICHMOND, Va. – After shooting a final-round 301, the Lehigh men's golf team wrapped-up play at the Richmond Intercollegiate Tuesday with a final score of 907 (303, 303, 301), good for ninth place. The Mountain Hawks finished eight strokes behind eighth place Presbyterian and finished ahead of St. Bonaventure and Bucknell in the 11-team field.
Host Richmond shot a 54-hole score of 855 (283, 279, 293) to take the team title, finishing four shots better than James Madison. Longwood placed third.
Junior captain Doug Marcincin was the low Mountain Hawk at the two-day event, tying for 29th at 223 (74, 74, 75). Senior Duncan Zeiders tied for 47th at 227 (76, 74, 77), while sophomore Sean Keller shot 230 (76, 80, 74), good for 56th place. Also competing for Lehigh were senior Dwight D'Iorio, who tied for 57th at 231 (77, 75, 79) and freshman Alex DiClemente, who finished at 237 (80, 82, 75) to tie for 61st.
Ian McConnell of Liberty captured medalist honors, shooting a 54-hole 209, two shots better than Sam Beach of Richmond.
The Mountain Hawks will wrap-up their fall schedule on this weekend at the Lincoln Mercury Intercollegiate, hosted by Seton Hall in Bedminster, N.J. Action begins Saturday with play continuing through Sunday.
