American comes to Stabler for hoops doubleheader

The Lehigh basketball teams welcome American to Stabler Arena this weekend as the second half of Patriot League play gets underway.

The two women’s teams enter Saturday night’s game deadlocked in sixth place in the league standings at the halfway point. The Mountain Hawks are looking to stop a four-game skid, after Wednesday night’s overtime setback at Colgate. Lehigh had an eleven point lead with eight minutes to go, but could not hold on. Jenny Callan scored 19 to lead Lehigh before fouling out in overtime, and Adrienne Blount added her third double-double of the season.
The Eagles are 2-5 in the league at the halfway point, and American has picked up wins over Colgate and Lafayette - two teams that topped the Mountain Hawks. American leads the Patriot League in offensive rebounds, averaging 14.55 per game. However, the Eagles struggle from the free throw line, ranking last in the league at just 53.8%
Lehigh leads the Patriot League in rebounding margin, out-rebounding its opposition by an average of 8.0 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, the Eagles are out-rebounded by an average of two boards per game.
