Lehigh Athletics: Weekend Preview

Welcome to Lehigh Athletics: Weekend Preview – your source for the latest in Lehigh Athletics as the weekend draws near.

A big weekend at Lehigh kicks off as the indoor track and field teams get set to host the Patriot League Championships at Rauch Fieldhouse beginning at 12:00 on Friday afternoon. That event will then get going again on Saturday morning at 11:00, and conclude on Sunday, beginning at 10:00. Admission is free to students with college ID and is just $5.00 to the public.

Saturday’s schedule is packed, beginning with the men’s tennis team, as they welcome the Eagles of Boston College to the Lewis Tennis Center for an early season match. Action gets underway at 10:00 am indoors. Admission is free.

The Lehigh men’s basketball team looks to move up in the Patriot League standings as the Brown and White plays host to Navy from Stabler Arena, beginning at 7:00. It’s Tastykake Kid’s Night at the arena with several activities scheduled, including a moon bounce and free throw challenge, as well as mascot appearances by Sponge Bob, Scooby Doo, Lenny from Shark Tales and many others. Activities get underway at 6:00 inside Stabler Arena. Only upper level gold chairbacks and bench seats remain for the game, and tickets will be available for purchase on game night. The women’s basketball team takes to the road for a showdown at Navy on Saturday afternoon (1:00 pm tip-off), as the Mountain Hawks look to win their school record tenth Patriot League game of the season. The game can be heard live on 91.3 FM WLVR, as well as on lehighsports.com.

Lacrosse season begins for the Lehigh men, as the Mountain Hawks travel to Newark, Delaware to take on the Fightin’ Blue Hens of Delaware. Game time is scheduled for 3:00 as the Brown and White takes on one of its many tough opponents on this year’s slate.

On Sunday, while the track and field championships are winding down, the Lehigh wrestling team, ranked fourth nationally, hosts the 25th ranked Penn Quakers in an EIWA showdown at 2:00 inside Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall. Standing room tickets are available on match day to Lehigh ID holders. General public tickets are sold out.

Also on Sunday, the men's tennis team plays its second match in as many days, welcoming Stony Brook to the Lewis Tennis Center, with play beginning at 9:30 am. The women’s tennis team will then go against the Seawolves of Stony Brook, beginning at 1:00 pm inside of the Lewis Tennis Center. Admission is free.
