Bethlehem, PA – As the excitement builds for Sunday’s hoops showdown with archrival Lafayette, the Lehigh Athletics Ticket Office has stayed busy in Grace Hall keeping up with the demand. In fact, the advance sale for Sunday already marks the greatest number of tickets ever sold in advance for a Lehigh basketball game.
The doubleheader includes a men’s game in which first place Lafayette maintains a one game lead over Lehigh entering the weekend in the Patriot League standings. On the women’s side, Lehigh enters the weekend just one game out of first place in the league standings.
The largest crowd ever to witness a Lehigh basketball game in Stabler Arena history came on February 9, 1991, when Lehigh played host to Fordham before a crowd of 5,123.
On Monday, Lehigh held a student and faculty/staff ID holder pick-up, and the event was extremely well-received. More than 600 tickets were issued on that day alone.
Lehigh student, faculty, and staff ID holders can still pick up a free ticket with their ID at the Grace Hall ticket office between now and Friday. ID’s will still be honored at Stabler Arena on game day while availability lasts.
Lehigh Athletics has already distributed 3,300 tickets for Sunday’s contest, and brisk sales continue. The entire lower seating bowl (blue seats) has been sold out, as have all upper-reserved (gold) seats.
Fans wishing to purchase upper level bleacher seats to Sunday’s doubleheader are urged to act now. Tickets can be purchased on Lehigh’s web site at lehighsports.com. They can also be ordered over the phone by calling (610) 7LU-GAME, or in person at the Grace Hall Athletic Ticket Office now through Friday between the hours of 10:00 am and 4:00 pm.
