Super Saturday at Stabler

The Lehigh wrestling team and Santa Claus make their only appearances of the year at Stabler Arena on Saturday, in a day filled with exciting Lehigh Athletics and fun for all ages. The action gets underway at 10am as the fifth-ranked wrestling team hosts the 19th annual Sheridan Duals, and continues into the evening as the men’s and women’s basketball team hosts a doubleheader for a night of holiday hoops and fun, highlighted by an appearance from St. Nick. The Mountain Hawks wrestling team takes on Rutgers at 10am as the Sheridan Duals kick off inside Stabler. At the same time, Rider will battle American on an adjacent mat. At noon, Lehigh duals with the Eagles of American University. Finally, at 2pm, the wrestling extravaganza concludes as Lehigh takes on Rider while Rutgers and American square off. When the wrestling fun concludes, the venue will be converted for basketball as the Lehigh women’s team plays host to St. Joseph’s. Game time is set for 5:30, and the Hawks will present a tough challenge for Lehigh. St. Joe’s has made appearances in the postseason WNIT in each of the last two seasons. Beginning at 6:00, it’s holiday fun for the whole family as Santa Claus arrives at Stabler on his sleigh. There will be plenty of activities for children in addition to the opportunity to have pictures taken with Santa. Following the women’s game, the Lehigh men’s team will look for its second straight win as the Mountain Hawks host Harvard at 7:30. A Lehigh victory would improve the Mountain Hawks to 3-1 at home on the season. Tickets for the Sheridan Duals (admittance to all of the day’s wrestling excitement) and tickets for the basketball doubleheader (one ticket for two basketball games and a bundle of holiday fun) can be purchased through the Lehigh Ticket Office or at the Stabler Arena box office on Saturday.
